PATENTED
ENSURE YOUR MAXIMUM HOCKEY SKATING PERFORMANCE WITH THE ORIGINAL SKATE BLADE CHECKERâ„¢.
Before you buy a pair of skates, sharpen them or step out onto the ice, use The Original Skate Blade Checker™ to ensure your skate blades are flat.
Instructions are simple:
Place full length of the Gage on middle of the skate blade. Blade facing up, Gage slot facing down.
If the blade does not fit in the slot, your blade is bent and needs replacement.
If you feel no resistance and the gage slides on easily, the blade is good. You should feel no resistance.
If you replace the blade with a new flat blade (as verified in the The Skate Blade Checkerâ„¢) and the blade shows resistance after installing, your blade holder is damaged or not mounted properly to the boot.
You can slide the Gage on the blade from front to back or back to front. Any resistance indicates a bent or deformed blade.
ABOUT THE SKATE BLADE CHECKERâ„¢
Our Story
The Skate Blade Checkerâ„¢, LLC, was founded to help hockey players of any ability, optimize their skating performance. While sharpening hockey skates, I noticed I was not getting the full edge down the blade. I would hold the blade to the overhead lights or put a flat stock on the blade to ensure the blade was not bent. It was difficult at best.
A go/no-go gage was the best solution to see if the blade was not bent. This was the birth of The Skate Blade Checkerâ„¢.

Only 0.15mm or .006" can drastically effect your top speed and turning radius. Your reduced stability on bent blades is noticeable at these small deformations.

The Skate Blade Checker Proâ„¢ will be made to a tighter standard which detect smaller blade deviations.
